Below is a list of our Small verses.
Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death.
Amen.
Receive, Lord, in tranquility and peace,
the souls of Your servants who have
departed out of this present life to be
with You.Give them the life that knows
no age, the good things that do not
pass away; through
Jesus Christ our Lord,
Amen
Let nothing disturb thee,
let nothing affright thee,
all that passeth away;
God alone abideth.
Patience obtaineth all things.
He who hath God can want for nothing.
God alone sufficeth.
“The Gates of Heaven will open
to all who confide in the protection
of Mary” Saint.
“Prayer ascends and Mercy descends.
High as are the Heavens and Low as is
the earth, God hears the voice of man.”
Oh, guard and protect me, St. Joseph, each day
as onward I journey to Heaven, I pray.
I ask, when I’m dying at thou wilt be there
to cheer by thy presence, to aid by thy prayer.
now hear me, St. Joseph I count upon thee
to grant my petitions, Whatever they be.
Lord make me an instrument of Thy Peace;
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury; pardon;
where there is doubt,
faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness light;
and where there is sadness, joy.
O Lady, since Thou art the dispenser of all graces, and since the grace of salvation can only come through Thy hands, our salvation depends on Thee.
Eternal Father, I offer Thee the
most precious blood of Thy Divine Son,
Jesus, in union with the masses
said throughout the world today
for all the holy souls in purgatory,
for sinners everywhere, for sinners
in the universal church, those in
my own home, and within my family.
Amen
Guardian Angel from
heaven so bright,
watching beside me
to lead me aright,
fold thy wings round me,
and guard me with love,
softly sing songs to me
of heaven above.
Amen
It’s not the tears that
are shed at the time
That tell of the hearts
that are broken;
But the silent tears
in the after years,
When our loved one’s
name is spoken.
Though your smile is gone forever,
And your hand we cannot touch,
Still we have so many memories,
Of the ones we loved so much.
Your memory is our keepsake,
With which we'll never part,
God has you in His keeping,
We have you in our hearts.
What we'd give if we could say,
Hello, Dad/Mother, in the same old way;
To hear your voice, and see your smile,
To sit with you and chat awhile,
So if you who have a father/mother,
Cherish NAME with care,
For you'll never know the heartache,
Till you see his/her vacant chair.
We think of you in silence,
We often speak your name,
But all we have are memories,
And your picture in a frame.
Your resting place we visit,
And put flowers there with care,
But no one knows the heartache,
As we turn and leave you there.
Two tired eyes are sleeping,
Two willing hands are still.
For one who suffered far too much,
Is resting in God's will.
You never said goodbye to us,
Perhaps its just as well,
We never could have said goodbye,
To one we loved so well.
Along the road to yesterday
That leads us straight to you,
Are memories of the happy days
Together we once knew.
And always every evening
We seem to have a way
Of wandering back to meet you
On the road to yesterday.
Beautiful memories
Are wonderful things,
They last till the longest day,
They never wear out,
They never get lost,
And can never be given away.
To some you may be forgotten,
To others a part of the past.
But to us who loved and lost you,
Your memory will always last.
If tears could build a stairwell
And memories were a lane,
I would walk right up to Heaven
And bring you home again.
No farewell words were spoken,
No time to say good-bye...
You were gone before I knew it,
And only God knows why.
In tears we saw you sinking,
We watched you fade away,
Our hearts were almost broken,
You fought so hard to stay,
But when we saw you sleeping,
So peacefully free from pain,
We could not wish you back,
To suffer that again.
The moment that you died,
Our hearts split in two,
The one side filled with memories,
The other died with you.
We often lay awake at night,
When the world is fast asleep,
And take a walk down memory lane,
With tears upon our cheeks.
O sweet Jesus for the sake of
Thy Bitter Passion and the sorrows
of Thy Immaculate Mother,
have mercy on his soul,
and let the light of Thy countenance
shine upon him. Amen.
Your life was love and labour,
Your love for your family true,
You did your best for all of us
We will always remember you.
Your smile has gone forever,
your hand we cannot touch.
We have so many memories
of you, Dad, we loved so much.
Come to me, all of you who are tired
from carrying your heavy loads,
and I will give you rest.
I’ll never find another friend
to take the place of you.
No one will ever touch my life
exactly like you do.
No one who’s quite so thoughtful,
no one I cherish so.
No one will mean so much to me;
I just wanted you to know.
If roses grow in Heaven Lord,
please pick a bunch for me.
Place them in my mother’s arms
and tell her they’re from me.
Tell her I love her and miss her much
And when she turns to smile,
place a kiss upon her cheek
and hold her for awhile.
We cannot bring the old days back,
When we were all together;
The family chain is broken now
But memories last forever.
Forgive, O Lord,
my little jokes on Thee
and I'll forgive the
great big one on me.
Deep are the memories,
precious they stay;
No passing of time,
can take them away.
A silent thought,
a quiet prayer,
For a special person
in God’s care.
If only we could see the splendour of the land
To which our loved ones are called from you and me
We’d understand
If only we could hear the welcome they receive
From old familiar voices all so dear
We would not grieve
If only we could know the reason why they went
We’d smile and wipe away the tears that flow
And wait content.
A slumber did my spirit seal;
I had no human fears:
She seemed a thing that could not feel
The touch of earthly years.
No motion has she now, no force;
She neither hears nor sees;
Rolled round in earth's diurnal course,
With rocks, and stones, and trees.
Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.
When I come to the end of the road,
and the sun has set for me,
I want no rites in a gloom filled room,
Why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little, but not too...
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon him.
May he rest in peace. Amen
God saw the road was getting rough,
The hill was hard to climb,
He gently closed your weary eyes,
And whispered “Peace be thine”.
In the shelter of Thy Sacred Heart,
Dear Jesus, may she rest;
We love her well but still we know,
God’s Holy Will is best.
Hold him O Jesus, in Thine arms,
And let him henceforth be,
A messenger of love between
Our human hearts and Thee.
Each time we look at your picture
You seem to smile and say,
Don’t be sad but courage take,
And love each other for my sake.
All I ask is that wherever you may be
you will remember me at Holy Communion and at the foot of the Altar.
St. Monica
In the shelter of Thy Sacred Heart,
Dear Jesus, may she rest;
We love her well but still we know,
God’s Holy Will is best.
Christ has died;
Christ is risen
Christ will come again.
Oh! you whom I have loved
so much on earth,
pray for me and live in such a manner
that we may be re-united in a Blessed Eternity.
St. Bonaventure
Two tired eyes are sleeping,
Two willing hands are still;
The one who worked so hard for us
Is resting at God’s Will.
Sacred Heart of Jesus
I place all my trust in Thee.
O sweet Jesus for the sake of
Thy Bitter Passion and the sorrows
of Thy Immaculate Mother,
have mercy on his soul,
and let the light of Thy countenance
shine upon him. Amen.
Jesus, Mary and Joseph
assist me in my last agony;
Jesus, Mary and Joseph
may I breathe
forth my soul in peace with you.
Amen.
A silent grief that’s in our hearts,
No human eye can trace;
For many a broken heart is hid
Beneath a smiling face.
The Lord bless you and keep you;
Show His face to you
and have mercy on you;
Turn His countenance to you
and give you peace.
O Mary conceived without sin,
pray for us who have recourse to Thee.
We have loved her in life,
let us not forget her in death.
Those who die in grace
go no further from us than God,
and God is very near.
God gave us the strength to bear it, And courage to fight the blow;
What it has meant to lose you, God alone will ever know.
Your life was love and labour,
Your love for your family true,
You did your best for all of us
We will always remember you.
Just a prayer from the family
who loved you,
Just a memory fond and true,
In our hearts you will live forever,
Because we thought the world of you.
In life I loved you dearly,
In death I love you still.
In my heart you hold a place,
That no one could ever fill.
Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God’s love commits me here, ever this day, be at my side
to light and guard, to rule and guide.
If tears could build a stairway,
and memories a lane,
I’d walk right up to Heaven
and bring you back again.
Our hearts still ache with sadness,
and secret tears still flow.
What it meant to lose you -
No one can ever know.
Loving you is easy,
We do it every day,
Missing you is a heartache,
That never goes away.
God saw the road was getting rough,
The hill was hard to climb,
He gently closed your weary eyes,
And whispered “Peace be thine”.
Pray for me as I will for thee,
that we may all merrily meet in heaven.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon him.
May he rest in peace. Amen
Perhaps they are not stars in the sky,
but rather openings,
where our loved ones shine down
to let us know they are happy.
We miss your smile, your joking ways.
We miss the things you used to say.
And when old times we do recall,
It’s when we miss you most of all.
Day is done, gone the sun,
from the hills and from the sky.
All is well, safely rest, safely rest, all is well.
Fading light dims the sight,
and a star gems the sky.
Gleaming bright from afar, drawing nigh,
falls the night. Dear one, rest!
A butterfly captures our hearts, from the moment they appear. They are vibrant and graceful as
their presence lifts our spirits.
Gone much too soon,
they will never be forgotten.
A butterfly lights beside us like a sunbeam.
And for a brief moment its glory and
beauty belong to our world.
But then it flies again.
And though we wish it could have
stayed… We feel lucky to have seen it.
Now the labourer’s task is over,
now the battle day is past.
Now upon the farther shore
lands the voyager at last.
Father, in Thy gracious keeping,
leave us now thy servant sleeping.
I’ll never find another friend to take
the place of you. No one will ever touch my life exactly like you do.
No one who’s quite so thoughtful,
no one I cherish so.
No one will mean so much to me;
I just wanted you to know
In our hearts your memory lingers,
sweetly tender, fond and true.
There is not a day dear Mother,
that we do not think of you.
You were a loving husband,
a friend, so good and true.
A better husband never lived,
your equals are but few.
A part of me she took with her but her
love she left me to keep.
So we will never really be parted,
the bond is just too deep.
We lost a dad with a heart of gold.
How much we miss him can never be told.
He shared our troubles & helped us along.
If we follow his footsteps,
we will never go wrong.
Looking back with memories,
upon the path you trod.
We bless the hours we had with you
and will leave the rest with God.
Your life was one of kindly deeds,
a helping hand for others needs.
Sincere and true in heart and mind,
beautiful memories left behind.
A silent thought, a quiet prayer,
For a special person in God’s care.
